Steve and Carrie spent 20 years in East Asia teaching English and ministering to university students. As their family grew to include five children, Carrie (BA in Elementary Education) transitioned to homeschooling their kids, as well as helping coordinate a homeschool community for other expats in their city.

Steve has a BA in Secondary Education as well as an MA in Intercultural Studies, which enabled him to teach at the university level in East Asia. Steve also provided leadership development and supervision for teaching team leaders in their region. Steve and Carrie have also provided member care for families and teams in East Asia.

In 2022, Steve and Carrie transitioned to Western Asia to join a church planting team focused on unreached peoples in the Caucasus Region. This then led to an opportunity to begin a mentor role at Safir Global Training in 2025.

Steve and Carrie’s oldest son recently transitioned to college in the States. The rest of their children enjoy life in Western Asia, love spending time outdoors on scooters and roller blades, and are thankful for their two dogs. We love all kinds of sports, baking, and games
