Executive Director, Instructor, Mentor

Rob and Kara bring over 25 years of diverse, international experience to Safir Global Training, resulting in a unique blend of practical wisdom and academic grounding. Their journey began as church planters in East Africa, where, for more than a decade and by God’s grace, they helped establish local churches and a Bible training school for pastors. This foundational work transitioned into a focus on training and mentoring workers while living in both Western and East Asia. While in East Asia, Rob also taught business at a local university and Kara taught English at an international school. Rob later served as the director of a training center in Latin America before returning to Western Asia in 2023 to launch Safir.

Rob holds an M.Div. and a D.Min. in Intercultural Studies and is an ICF-certified coach. Rob currently leads Safir, while both he and Kara serve as mentors, focused on equipping others to make Jesus known among the nations. They are blessed with four adult children and one grandchild. In their spare time, you might find Rob and Kara enjoying historical sites and nature as their travels take them to different regions, or catching up on the Detroit sports scene.
