Discipleship Group Leaders, Mentors

Wade and Tara were given the opportunity to work together in Southern Africa, where Tara had grown up serving. They began their married life working in uniquely impoverished and dangerous communities. There they served children orphaned due to HIV/AIDS while pursuing community development. They also saw the absence of local churches proclaiming the Good News of Jesus.

After a season of preparation back at their sending church they returned to plant an English speaking church- a church that reflected the diversity of the city they lived in. Through eight beautiful years of labor the Lord wrought a thriving church that brought together culture groups, typically opposed to one another, in the name of Jesus.

Saying goodbye to that context after twelve years their family moved to Western Asia to serve as Mentors and Discipleship Group Leaders at Safir. They are also planting an English speaking church.

Wade and Tara have five children, all still at home, and a dog named Muddy. Tara is a licensed Social Worker and licensed Doula. She loves supporting women and families and pointing them to Jesus. Wade prefers manual labor but you will often find him in the pulpit or generally causing trouble to the Glory of God.
